Unlike the other stones, Black Obsidian naturally retains warmth and is great to use on congested, blemish prone skin. The warmth of the obsidian encourages stimulation of the lymphatic system and circulation.

To warm our Black Obsidian Roller, we recommend placing it in a glass of warm water for a minute or two before use.

The best thing about a facial roller is calming it can make you feel.  Whether you use it in the a.m. before you put on your makeup, or before bed to wind down after a long day, adding a roller to your routine is the most soothing self-care ritual.

What are the Benefits of a Facial Roller?

Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: The roller can reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles as it smooths out the skin and increases oxygen and blood flow to the area.

Increasing Lymphatic Drainage: If used correctly, the roller moves the excess fluid under the skin back towards your lymph nodes where it filters out toxins. 

Reduce puffiness: If there is excess water under the skin, the roller helps move this out of the face - its cooling action also helps with this.

Removes jaw tension: Many people carry a lot of tension in their jaws, especially while sleeping. See your roller as a deep tissue massage for your face, releasing that tension!

Facial Contouring: When fluid retention is eliminated and facial muscles are stimulated the contours of the face and neck improve dramatically.

How do you use a Facial Roller?

We recommend cleansing your skin first, then applying a small amount of a light oil or serum with the roller.

Starting at the chin, use broad, long strokes horizontally to the hairline - you should apply slight pressure but not so that it is "pulling" your skin.

Then, from the nose, gently roll towards the ear - smoothing the skin under the eyes.

Moving up, use the small end of the roller around the corner of the eye, rolling to the temples.

Last up, place the roller above the eyebrow and push up towards the hairline. You can also finish by rolling horizontally from the middle of the forehead out towards the temples.

How often should you use a Facial Roller?

You can use a roller everyday but we would recommend to use it after cleansing your face and neck. You can use it up to twice a day but one should be plenty.

If there is a day where you feel like your skin is especially puffy, then morning and evening should work wonders!

Regularly clean your roller. Since the tools are being used on your face and can easily spread bacteria, clean them with warm water and soap after use and store in a clean, dry place.
