We developed our patterns from scratch, basing the design on the same exact AJ1 lasts that we offer at DLS HERE.  Using our patterns in conjunction with our lasts ensures the best possible fit and shape (i.e. no weird saggy spots or mudguards that sit too high/low on the toe, etc.).

We opted for a symmetrical design, which is slight departure from the asymmetrical production shoe design.  We did this because our lasts are pretty close to being symmetrical, and it's also generally easier to work with symmetrical patterns.

IMPORTANT STUFF:

• Sizes listed are US Men's D Width
  
• Acrylic templates are laser-cut 1/8" acrylic (shipped with protective film)
• Digital patterns are formatted for A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inch) size paper. Files are unlocked and fully editable PDF. You'll be able to create your own SVG files for your cutting machine.

CAVEATS:

• These patterns are for private, personal, and educational use ONLY.  
• If you're new to shoe making, you may find it very challenging to work from these patterns.  If you're not already in the HandMadeHeat Discord group, sign up by requesting an invitation @hand_made_heat on Instagram.  There's a ton of helpful knowledge there and hundreds of makers ready to help you work through challenges.  Our little team at DLS is here for you, but HMH is the best place to start for quick answers about shoe making.
