The Slot Type Infrared Optocoupler Speed Sensor Module with LM393 comparator is designed for precise motor speed detection, pulse counting, and position control. Featuring the high-sensitivity ITR9606 optocoupler, it combines an infrared emitter and an NPN phototransistor in a 5 mm slot structure to ensure accurate signal response.
This module operates on 3.3V–5V and outputs a clean digital signal (DO) ideal for microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other development boards. The onboard LM393 comparator ensures stable performance, clear signal waveform, and drive capability above 15mA. Convenient M3 mounting holes make installation easy and flexible for robotics or automation projects.
When no object blocks the slot, the DO output stays low, and the indicator LED remains on. When an object interrupts the infrared beam, the output switches high and the LED turns off — allowing reliable object detection, rotation count measurement, or simple on/off triggering for relays and buzzers.

Usage Note:
Always connect power correctly; reversing polarity may damage the module. For Raspberry Pi users, configure GPIO pins as input mode before use. Other MCUs (e.g., ARM, STM32, ESP32) must also use input/receive mode for proper function. The 51-series MCUs can be used directly without extra configuration.
