One certainly sees antique jointed bisque baby dolls around, but much rarer to find a cat--this one German, circa 1890 or so I believe. From what I've learned there were a variety of jointed dogs and cats made in this manner, but they're quite scarce now, making them pretty valuable little things. I really like the painted face and red bow on this little kitty, who can pose in a variety of ways. 

2 1/8" l x 2 1/4" t. Good antique condition, no chips or cracks. Can sit and stand on its own in a few different positions.  I know the wire attaching the front legs, a bit brighter silver in tone, is newer, but was well done and all four legs move smoothly.
