20 Second Showdown is a lightning-fast game for 5-20 players. One player is the referee. The others divide themselves into two teams, sit opposite each other, and brace themselves. At the start of each round, the referee resets the hourglass with an equal amount of sand in each half. The referee flips the hourglass and reads the card. Each card contains 2 challenges, and the referee decides which side will be used in a round. “Stand up and do the YMCA. Introduce yourself politely without closing your mouth. Name three countries that start with the letter B. Use your own sock as a hand puppet. Name everything you’ve eaten today.” For each completed challenge, the referee flips the hourglass. To win, you must force the other team to run out of sand by completing your challenges as quickly as possible.
