The 4th Ranger Battalion, also known as Ranger Diamond, is a historical unit from the United States Army during World War II. It was activated on May 29, 1943, in Tunisia and was disbanded following the Battle of Cisterna in February 1944. The battalion was formed from American volunteers in North Africa and was part of the 75th Ranger Regiment, which was consolidated with the Regiment's active battalions in 1986. The battalion's lineage was integrated into the 75th Ranger Regiment, and it was known for its strict training regimen and small special operations forces units.
