Bring your students to the farm for a memorable, hands-on learning experience that connects children with animals, agriculture, and nature. Our guided farm field trips are designed to be engaging, educational, and interactive, giving students the opportunity to experience real farm life while learning about animals, fiber, and regenerative farming.

Each field trip lasts approximately 90 minutes and is led by two knowledgeable farm team members who guide students through the farm while sharing age-appropriate educational information.

When your group arrives, buses will park in the designated parking area, and children will unload. Once everyone is off the bus, the group will walk together to the main entrance in front of the south barn. We begin with a brief introduction and farm safety overview to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone.

After going over the farm rules, the group will head toward the north side of the farm. While we are not able to enter the fenced areas on the north side due to the livestock guardian dogs, we will walk along part of the perimeter to visit the pigs. Along the way, students will also be able to see the alpacas grazing in the nearby pastures. Please note that this portion of the walk may include muddy areas, brush, and uneven ground.

At the pig pasture, children will have the opportunity to toss apples into the pasture for the pigs to eat. During this time, the tour guide will share information about our pigs, why we raise them, and how they help us work toward building a regenerative farm operation.

On the way back from visiting the pigs, the group will stop near the south barn, also known as the main barn, to see the sheep in the pasture. The guide will share a little information about our sheep and their role on the farm.

We will then return to the front of the south barn, where the tour began. At this time, there will be a short fiber education lesson explaining why we raise alpacas. Children will be able to see and handle fiber samples in different stages so they can better understand the process.

After the fiber lesson, students will enter pasture two, where they will have the opportunity to feed and gently interact with the alpacas in pastures one and three. A table will also be set up with coloring sheets for children who would like to color while spending time near the animals. The guide will remain with the group to answer questions and share more about the alpacas and the farm.

Children are welcome to bring a snack and a water bottle. A very clean portable restroom is located in the parking lot for restroom use, and handwashing is available near pasture two at the south barn.
