This is a medium-sized fossorial Ornithoctoninae native to Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. They are common throughout their range, and due to their relative abundance, wild-caught specimens are regularly exported for the pet trade. They are also regularly collected and used locally and internationally as food. Phenotypically, the species exhibits considerable variation, with multiple local variants recognized across its range. The abundance of easily accessible wild-caught specimens has led to this species oftentimes being overlooked in the pet trade; however, they are a stunning species that isn't given enough credit.
