A young American who has chosen to live in Andalusia in 1946. Stuart Bailey falls in love with his beautiful and mysterious renter, Juanita Odeon. He loses his left arm in what might be called the last shootout of WWII. Only it happens in southern Spain, while Stuart is desperately trying to save Juanita's life. Here you will come to know Spain as it was in the years following its own Civil War through many moments of pain, as well as gallantry and moments of very dark humor. The town feels that Stuart, now one-armed like everybody else is really part of the team and they come to regard him as their very own hero.
