Photographers and videographers who work across multiple rigs know the frustration of unscrewing and remounting their camera every time they switch between a tripod, stabiliser, or slider. The P200 quick-release plate clamp system eliminates that bottleneck, letting you move your camera between setups in seconds — no tools, no fumbling, no wasted shots.
Each set includes one P200 quick-release clamp base and one quick-release plate. Both are CNC-machined from aluminium alloy for a rigid, lightweight build. The plate measures 120 mm × 75 mm × 22 mm (approximately 4.7" × 3.0" × 0.87") and weighs 266 g (≈9.4 oz). The clamp base accepts both UNC 1/4" and UNC 3/8" camera screws and mounts to equipment via two 3/8" and five 1/4" threaded holes on its underside.
Typical use cases include run-and-gun video production where the camera moves between a fluid head tripod and a handheld gimbal stabiliser, studio photography setups that share one camera body across a tripod and a slider rail, and field work where a quick-release plate for DSLR or mirrorless cameras needs to stay mounted between shoots. The 577-standard dovetail interface makes this clamp a direct fit for Manfrotto 577, 500AH, 701HDV, 503HDV, and Q5 fluid heads.

The P200 clamp is designed to the Manfrotto 577-style dovetail standard, making it directly compatible with Manfrotto 577, 500AH, 701HDV, 503HDV, and Q5 fluid heads. It is also generally compatible with other tripod heads, stabilizers, and slider rigs that use the same dovetail interface. If your head uses a different standard (such as Arca-Swiss), this clamp will not fit.
Most consumer DSLR and mirrorless cameras use a UNC 1/4"-20 tripod socket — this is the smaller of the two screws included. Larger professional video cameras and some cinema rigs typically use a UNC 3/8"-16 socket. Check the bottom of your camera body: the 1/4" hole is approximately 6.35 mm in diameter, while the 3/8" hole is approximately 9.5 mm. Both screws are included in the package, and spare screw storage holes are built into the plate.
The P200 clamp is rated for a load range of 2–5 kg (approximately 4.4–11 lbs). This covers most DSLR and mirrorless camera bodies with a standard lens attached. For heavier cinema camera builds with large lenses and accessories, verify your total rig weight before use.
Yes. The CNC-machined aluminum alloy body is durable and generally corrosion-resistant for typical outdoor shooting conditions. It is not rated for submersion or prolonged exposure to rain. For wet-weather shoots, we recommend covering or drying the clamp after use to maintain long-term performance.
Yes. Each purchase includes one P200 clamp base and one quick release plate. You do not need to purchase the plate separately. Both UNC 1/4" and UNC 3/8" camera screws are also included.
Slide the quick release plate into the clamp's dovetail channel, then turn the red locking lever clockwise to secure it. To release, turn the lever counterclockwise to loosen the grip, then slide the plate out. The lever is designed for tool-free, one-handed operation, making camera swaps fast even when working alone on location.
That is the intended workflow. Mount the quick release plate to your camera once using the appropriate screw, then slide the camera in and out of clamps installed on your tripod, stabilizer, or slider as needed. This eliminates repeated screw-mounting and is the primary advantage of a quick release plate system for DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
The built-in two-way spirit level lets you check horizontal alignment in both the front-to-back and side-to-side axes directly on the clamp. This is particularly useful when mounting the camera on a new rig or after adjusting tilt, helping you achieve a level horizon without relying solely on your camera's electronic level.
