Description: Akkeshi Shosetsu “The Greeting of Snow” is the 13th release in the 24 Sekki series from Akkeshi Distillery in Hokkaido, Japan, capturing the quiet prelude to winter when the first snow dusts mountain peaks. This malt & grain blend features some whisky matured in rare Hokkaido mizunara oak alongside ex-bourbon, sherry, and red wine casks with a minimum age of three years. Bottled at 48% ABV and non-chill filtered, it opens with a citrus-forward bouquet of candied lemons, pickled ume, and sweet grain. On the palate you'll discover orange peel, smoky cedar, and layers of texture that culminate in a complex finish of bitter lemon peel and vanilla cream.
