About the Photoshoot

Diamond Beach in southeast Iceland is a magical place where icebergs from the nearby Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon wash ashore and create stunning visuals against the black volcanic sands. One early winter morning, I set out to capture this ethereal landscape at sunrise. The gentle rolling waves were illuminated by the warm rays of the rising sun, creating a stark yet beautiful contrast with the icebergs that dotted the shoreline.

To accentuate the fairy-tale quality of the scene, I used a long exposure technique. This allowed the movement of the waves to blur into a soft mist, giving the impression of a dreamlike world where the icebergs, sparkling like jewels, appeared to be floating on a sea of light. The clouds added depth to the picture, framing the top part nicely and drawing the viewer’s attention to the interplay of ice and sunlight below.

As I stood on the beach, I was captivated by how the sunlit icebergs resembled scattered diamonds, each one reflecting the hues of the dawn.
