Why this aircraft matters

This jet, B-2175, was part of China Eastern’s long-range MD-11 fleet. It rolled out at the end of 1993, serving on passenger routes around Asia and beyond. It later converted to freight duty under China Cargo Airlines.

B-2175 flew on major international sectors. These ranged from Hong Kong and Beijing to global gateways like Los Angeles and Paris. Its conversion to a freighter extended its life into the 2000s. It later moved under SkyLease Cargo before retirement.
