An album by chor anglais player Maria Lindo. Born in Madrid, she first encountered the chor anglais while studying at the Hans Eisler University of Music in Berlin, and made her debut as a soloist in Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari's "Concertino for chor anglais. Since then, this instrument has been a central part of her repertoire. On this album, she performs works for cor anglais, including two world premiere recordings. Keklan's "Songs," which utilizes an oriental atmosphere, Hindemith's technical sonata, Kersch's lyrical work that took 18 years to write, and Pellino's "Five Short Stories," in which each movement has its own independent story, all make full use of the sound and function of the cor anglais. The piece is performed by Yukako Morikawa of Berlin, who also performs with the orchestra. Yukako Morikawa, who performs with the orchestra, is a Berlin-based pianist who studied at the Berlin University of the Arts before furthering her studies at the Mannheim College of Music's Soloist Course and obtaining a German National Performer Certificate.
