Paolo Pandolfo, a prodigy of the ancient music world, gave us an impressive and stimulating performance that broke down the boundaries of genres in his improvisation album "Kind of Satie" (GCD P30416), which is based on Satie's theme. The world-famous Italian viola da gamba virtuoso recorded "Fantasia for viola da gamba TWV.40:26-37" to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Telemann's death. Although it was known to have been composed around 1735 and the score was published, it was shrouded in mystery due to the disappearance of the score.As with his masterpieces for violin, flute (and traverso), and harpsichord, Pandolfo approaches the essence of the 12 Fantasias for viola da gamba composed by Telemann, who had his ear to the burgeoning Hamburg amateur market! --!
