Cherry Red Records, the British label that led the neo-acoustic boom in the 1980s and has had a great influence on Shibuya-kei artists in Japan, is reissuing a series of masterpieces from their collection. Released in 1992, this album was a pioneer of Brit Pop. Mexico 70 was a band led by Mick Bunt, a singer and guitarist, who was a bassist of Felt, one of the main artists of Cherry Red. This is the first album of Mexico 70, although it is an edited version released in 1992 with new songs added to the first two EPs, "Valencia" and "Wonderful Life," released on Cherry Red in 1991. Felt producer John A. Rivers wrote eight of the songs on this album, which is very Oasis-like! This music is, in other words, a precursor to Brit Pop a few years too early and a direct link to that prosperity of the mid-90s. 2018 digitally remastered, paper-jacketed edition, new commentary by Hidetsugu Ito.
