What It Is & How It's Used

A flap sanding disc is made of overlapping abrasive flaps mounted on a backing plate that attaches to an angle grinder. As it spins, the flaps wear away gradually, exposing fresh abrasive, which provides a combined grinding and finishing action without gouging as much as a rigid grinding disc.

Tips

• Grit selection matters:
  Lower grit (e.g., 40-60) faster stock removal, rough surfaces.
  Medium grit (80) general blending and prep work
  Higher grit (120, if available) smoother finish.

• Fit to standard 115 mm angle grinders

• Always wear eye, face, body and respiratory protection when grinding/sanding.
