A finely made French devotional pendant dating to the early Art Deco period, centred with an oval plaque of luminous mother-of-pearl delicately engraved with a winged cherub.
The plaque is set within a geometric bell-shaped mount in solid 18K gold, decorated with vertical fluting and stylised rose motifs that clearly reflect Art Deco design. The reverse is plain and polished, intended to sit comfortably against the skin.
The pendant weighs 1.57 grams and measures approximately 2.5 × 1.5cm. It bears the Paris eagle’s head hallmark confirming 18K gold fineness, along with the maker’s mark “CF”. Condition is very good, with only minimal surface wear consistent with age.
This pendant forms part of a group of mother-of-pearl religious jewels acquired from the lost stock of an old French manufacturing jeweller specialising in devotional medals and pendants; a rare survival offering a direct link to early 20th-century Parisian religious jewellery production.
